How do prices on my parts work?

Reserve Prices

The reserve price is the minimum price per unit in USD at which you are willing to sell your parts.

Reserve prices are not visible to buyers. On auctions, if you get bids above the reserve price, the sale will execute to the highest bidder. Bidders also see whether the reserve price is hit after they bid.

Because low reserve prices tend to encourage more buyers to participate and compete, we typically see parts with reserve prices of 8% of MSRP or less get higher interaction and therefore higher returns.

Target Prices

The target price or TP is the price per unit in USD you want to receive for your parts.

Target prices are visible to buyers before they bid and can serve to anchor buyers high. We recommend setting ambitious but reasonable target prices, typically 20-45% of MSRP. If you have an off platform competitive bid, a requirement from your finance team or a number below which you would keep the parts in production, the TP is a good place to surface that to buyers. TPs that are too high can discourage buyers from bidding, while TPs that are too low can anchor buyers too low.

Mobius E-commerce Prices

The Mobius E-commerce price is a Mobius set price per unit in USD that represents the sales price on our marketplace. This is typically 60 - 80% of MSRP depending on the type of part.

We set the e-commerce price to be a number that would represent higher that you would typically get on the secondary market but lower than publicly available authorized distributors.

To find out the e-commerce price for any part you are listing, go to the Inventory page and search that part.

Top Bid Price

The top bid price is the price per unit in USD for the top bid you have received on a part. This is net of fees from Mobius, meaning if you accept the bid, you will receive this price times the quantity for your parts with no additional cost.
