Mobius only sells new, original and authentic parts. What does this mean?
New parts
To list parts, they must be unused. This means they can not have been soldered to any boards or been plugged into assemblies for use in production.
If there is any evidence of prior use found in our inspection process, the inspection report will be provided to you and the sale may be cancelled.
Custom programming
Some parts may have been flashed with non factory firmware or otherwise programmed. We can sell these on the platform but it must be noted in the listing.
Edit the programming status of the parts in two ways, either in the dropdown in the manual listing or in the columns of your upload.
Programmed parts do not sell at the same rates as normal parts, and you can expect a reduction in value of about 50% for parts with custom programming. This is because the programming process can introduce quality issues to the parts and will require the manufacturer to spend money to reflash the parts. Custom programmed parts are not eligible for immediate purchase on our ecommerce store; they can only be listed in auction or on the open bidding section of the site.
Original packaging
Original packaging is not required to sell on the Mobius platform but it does affect the value of your parts. Parts that are not in original packaging are typically valued between 30 - 50% less on the market.
When you list your parts without photos, the platform assumes your parts are in original packaging. If we later find that the parts are not in the original packaging during inspection, the buyer will first get a chance to accept or reject the order at the original price. If they reject it, then the part will return to auction with the photos taken during inspection added to the order.
Authentic parts
All parts listed on the Mobius platform must be authentic, or be the mpn and manufacturer represented in the listing. If there is any discrepancy found in our inspection process, the inspection report will be provided to you and the sale may be cancelled.
Partial reels or trays
Often excess may consist of partial reels or trays of parts. These are fine on the platform and do not need to be called out. They will be checked in the inspection process for moisture issues or vacuum sealing. If there is any quality issue caused by partial reels, then the inspection report will be provided to you and the sale may be cancelled. This is rare however, most partial reels are sold normally.
Accurate information on Listings
Buyers rely on the information we give them about the listings to be correct before they place bids that are binding. Information provided by sellers is locked at the time of auction launch and then is verified by Mobius' inspection before the sale is fully completed.
If you find out any listing information provided in an auction was incorrect before the auction is started, you can correct it on the listing page or by choosing Update Listings. After the auction has begun, if any information is found to be incorrect, the buyers will have a chance to reject the order and the part will need to relaunch on another auction with the correct information. For example, if we find out in an inspection, that the date code provided in the auction was incorrect, then the buyer can decide to cancel. The date code would then be added to the listing and it would relaunch in another, shortened auction.
