Inventory Alerts

This article describes how buyers set up inventory alerts to get emailed when parts matching their MPN, category or price conditions come into Mobius stock.

Inventory alerts tell you when a part you want comes into Mobius stock. You set the conditions, and we'll email you when a listing matches. Inventory alerts are for buyers.

Creating an alert

  1. Go to Inventory Alerts under Buying in the Mobius app.

  2. Select New alert and give the alert a name. Use something you'll recognize later, such as "STM32 family price watch".

  3. Set your conditions. These decide which listings trigger the alert.

  4. Choose who gets the email and how often it's sent.

  5. Select Create alert.

Before you save, the Matching listings right now panel shows a live sample of current stock that would trigger the alert. Use it to check your conditions are doing what you expect. If it returns nothing, your conditions may be too narrow.

Alert conditions

You can build an alert on any combination of these fields:

  • MPN. The exact part number, or any part number containing the text you enter. Use contains to catch a family, for example STM32.

  • MPN family. Matches a group of related part numbers.

  • Manufacturer. Select from the manufacturers on the Mobius platform.

  • Category. Select from the Mobius component categories, for example Ceramic Capacitors or Microcontrollers.

  • Quantity. Set a minimum stock quantity, for example at least 5,000 units.

  • Unit price. Matches listings at or below the price you set.

  • Date code. The manufacturing date code on the inventory.

  • Lead time. Set a maximum, for example at most 4 weeks.

Add several conditions to a group, and add more than one group, to build a more specific rule. Conditions and groups are combined with AND and OR, so you can write a rule like "MPN contains STM32 AND lead time is at most 4 weeks" and then add a second group for the manufacturers you'll accept.

Alerts fire when a listing becomes newly available on the Mobius platform, for example when it goes live or when an auction launches. A price change on a listing that is already live will not trigger an alert. To see what's in stock right now, use the Matching listings right now panel when you create or edit the alert.

Who gets the email

You can send the alert to yourself, to anyone else in your organization, or to both. Only users in your own organization appear in the recipient list.

Choose how the email arrives:

  • Instant. We email as soon as a match appears.

  • Daily digest. We collect the day's matches into one email.

Seeing your matches

Every alert email lists the parts that matched and the rule that caught them.

You can also see everything in the app. The Inventory Alerts page lists all matches across your alerts, and you can filter by date or by rule. From a match, select See part to open the part page, which shows why you were alerted and how the listing compares to your target. Select View all listings to see every listing for that MPN on the Newly Released Stock page.

Turning alerts off

You can pause or turn off any alert at any time, either from the alert email or from the Alert Rules page in the app. The links in the email work without logging in. Each alert is controlled on its own, so turning one off leaves the rest running.
