Binding means you are committed to buy at the submitted price if you win
When you submit a bid, you are committing to buy the parts at that price if you win.
The bid is final. It cannot be withdrawn or lowered once it is in. All bids are in USD per unit, not per lot.
Seller counter bids work the same way. If a seller counters your bid, that counter is binding on the seller. If you accept it, the price and the sale are confirmed.
We hold bids to this standard to protect the quality of the marketplace. Sellers make real decisions about their excess based on the bids in front of them, and binding bids are what make those decisions possible.
Check before you submit
Review the full listing before you place a bid. Once the bid is in, none of these are grounds to change your mind:
The unit price you are entering, in USD
The quantity on the listing
The date code, or the absence of one
The location of the parts
The rest of the listing detail, including manufacturer, MPN and packaging
Cancellations and returns
There are no cancellations or returns on a winning bid, with two exceptions.
Quality issues. If the parts have a quality problem, the order can be cancelled.
Incorrect listing information. If anything about the listing turns out to be wrong, whether quantity, date code, or any other detail, you can walk away from the order.
If no date code was provided on the listing, there is nothing to be incorrect, and our date code policy applies instead. See Date Codes for the discounts and cancellation rights that apply when parts fall outside the assumed window.
If you back out of a winning bid
Backing out of a bid you have won, outside the exceptions above, is a violation of our Terms of Sale. Buyers who do this are removed from the platform.
