Why was part of my order cancelled and relaunched?

This article describes why Mobius cancels a line from a buyer's order after inspection, how the credit note works, and how buyers can bid on the relaunched part.

When inspection turns up a quality exception other than a date code, a quantity variance or non-original packaging, we cancel that line from your order and relaunch the corrected part in a new auction. This article covers what that means for your payment and how you can bid again.

When this happens

  • The date code differs from the one published on the listing when you placed your bid

  • The parts are not the part number listed

  • The parts are damaged

  • The parts are pre-programmed

  • Several issues turn up on the same listing

What happens to your payment

We remove the line from your order and issue a credit note to your account, which you can apply to future orders. If you would rather have the payment returned to your original payment method, ask us and we will arrange it.

What happens to the parts

The parts stay at our hub and go back up in a new auction with corrected information, so you can bid again if it still fits your needs.

Bidding again

The corrected part goes up in a short auction that runs for 5 business days. Everyone who bid on the original listing is invited, including you.

Bids you place are binding: If the seller accepts your bid you are required to buy the part, subject to our Terms of Sale. See Placing a Bid on an Auction Part, What is a binding bid? and Auction timelines.
