Every order that runs through Mobius is inspected at our hub before it ships to the buyer. A quality exception is anything we find that does not match the listing. This article covers what we look for and what happens next.
How a quality exception is found
Most exceptions are found during inspection at our hub, after the seller ships the parts to us and before they go on to the buyer.
What we look for
A date code that was not published on the listing and is 3 years or older
A date code that differs from the one published on the listing
Non-original packaging
A quantity that differs from the quantity ordered
A different part than the one listed
Physical damage
Pre-programmed parts
More than one of the above on the same listing
To understand more about these exceptions. see Date codes and Condition of Listings.
Outcomes from a quality exception
Some exceptions are resolved with an order value adjustment.
For others, the corrected parts are relaunched on a new 5-day auction.
If you are the buyer
We email you with what inspection found before anything ships. Depending on the finding, you may be able to keep the parts at an adjusted price, or cancel the line.
If you are the seller
We email you with what inspection found and what it means for your PO. Your account rep can walk through any finding with you.
